Frequently Asked Questions
Is 25 feet enough for most generator setups?
For generators placed directly adjacent to a structure (patio, garage door), 25 feet reaches most connection points. For longer runs, choose the XPX12050C (50 ft) or XPX12100C (100 ft).
At 25 feet, does gauge matter as much?
At shorter distances, voltage drop is minimal and 12 AWG is excellent. Even 10 AWG provides little extra benefit at 25 ft unless you’re running at maximum amperage continuously.
